A Chat with Longtime TMC Customer Liz Pettis

Thrive Medical Cannabis recently had the opportunity to sit down with one of our valued customers, Liz Pettis. We wanted to delve deeper into the personal journeys of our community members and understand how our products have impacted their lives. Liz graciously shared her experiences, challenges, and the role Thrive Medical Cannabis has played in her healing process. Here's what she had to say.

How did you learn about Thrive Apothecary?

"I discovered Thrive while I was looking for alternative medicine for autism and mental health. I was looking for a reputable place and found this place and knew when I walked in this would be my place."

Tell us about yourself

"I am a mother of 2, married for 21 years, and own 2 miniature schnauzers. I am a pretty private person living with autism, and mental health has been quite a challenge, but it only makes me stronger. Just as we thought things were back on track, we were hit with the pandemic. Then, I received a call on October 22, 2021, that I had breast cancer. The hardest part for me was it was on my daughter's 17th birthday. I knew I had to keep it together for me and my family. I took this time to do some reflecting and do some connecting within. I knew that at this point, I needed to make some changes in my life in order to fight this battle and to heal. I am now cancer-free, working on healing, and I feel like I am starting to find my purpose in life. I hope that with my story and my drive to make a positive impact that I make a difference in this world."

How was your experience with the staff in the store?

"I came into Thrive looking for products to help my family and came out with a family. Melissa is wonderful. She doesn't know what an impact she has made in my life. During my cancer, I knew when I (walked) in, she could put a smile on my face and lift me up. I love the environment and the people there. I always learn something new every time I visit."

What made you decide to become a regular customer?

"I became a regular customer not only because I believe in the products but the people and the environment."

What advice would you give others battling or who have overcome cancer?

"Cancer is different for everyone, and it is super easy to fall into a dark place. Know your options and take this time to do some reflecting. Focus on positive changes, try new things, look into our foods (ingredients). Look into cannabis and mushrooms and find what can help you stay in the right mindset and help you stay strong. If you can beat cancer, just think about what else you can conquer and what things you are truly capable. Take this time to turn a difficult situation into a positive one. I am taking this time to heal and be the best version of myself. It's little things that can build up into something beautiful. POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING!"

What motivates you to stay Thriving?

"What motivates me to stay thriving is because every day is a new day and a new adventure. My family and loved ones are what keep me going. No matter what challenges we are faced with, there is always a lesson to be learned. You take out what you want."

Fun Fact about yourself.

"I am a desert girl at heart who is quirky and easily amused by the smallest things. Hand me a paint brush and I am a happy camper. I am always up for an adventure. I love to thrift shop - always up for a few curbside DIY projects and love to hit the farmers markets."

How has the regime from Thrive Medical Cannabis impacted your day-to-day life?

"It has helped on many levels."

How long did it take to see the desired results?

"I saw results pretty quickly."

What advice would you give someone nervous about trying it?

"If you are nervous about trying it, do your own research. Ask people who partake and how they feel. No question is a dumb question. The more questions you ask, the more you learn. You know your body better than anyone else."

How was the process of getting your prescription?

"The process to apply is quite simple and the pickup as well."

What is your favorite Texas Original Product?

"I preferred to use the tincture during my cancer journey, and it helped on so many levels. Sleep, pain, anxiety, appetite. I can keep going."

Are there any final comments or information you would like to share?
